2012 marks three annivereries for me - I turned 50 in March , In September I will have been working as a GP in Porthcawl for 20 years , and very sadly it will be 5 years that my practice manager and very close friend Gill Crouch passed away of cancer at the age of just 49 .

To mark these events and in memory of Gill I am cycling the length  of Great Britain from John O'Groats to Lands End. to raise funds for Cancer Research UK .

I set  off on Monday 3rd  September and plan to arrive all being well on Sunday 16th  September

I am hoping that as many friends , colleagues and patients of mine will sponsor me to raise funds for this great charity .

 Gill was a fantastic person and I hope that everyone who knew her will join in in supporting me in memory of a great person

While I was planning this event my Dad Len sadly , but peacefully passed away . The last thing we talked about was this ride - so I have to do it for my dad too!!
