JILL TODD

 

Jill was the daughter of Barrie Todd (the founder of our practice).  She graduated with a first class honours degree in Photography and Film from Edinburgh Napier University in 2009.  Following her success at Edinburgh Napier, her career took off very quickly. An internship at Stills Gallery in Edinburgh was followed by prestigious commissions including those from the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Edinburgh Film, Science and Literature Festivals.

 

Jill’s career was however cruelly ended by a short but aggressive cancer related illness which took her life in October 2010.

 

THE JILL TODD TRUST

 

Jill’s life and career had so much promise that her family set up The Jill Todd Trust to commemorate her name and to progress ideals which were so dear to her principles of living.

 

Succinctly expressed the ‘objectives’ of the Trust are as follows:

 

1. To promote the art and technology of photography to the public and especially to  young people and students.

 

2. To assist, in particular young people and students, in the pursuit of employment and careers in photography.

 

3. To provide financial assistance towards the treatment and care of persons suffering from and medical research relating to cancer. 

 

Over the past year the Trust has raised over £4000 for these causes through exhibitions and the resultant sale of Jill’s work
