COPS is a UK charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers and police staff who have lost their lives on duty to rebuild their lives. We aim to ensure that surviving family members have the help they need to cope with such tragedy and they remain part of the police family.

Story

Firstly, thanks for visiting our page!

I have ran the Reading Half Marathon three times for Care of Police Survivors (COPS) and on the last occasion crazily did it wearing full level 2 public order gear. It hurt like hell, but managed to complete it in 3 hours exactly and raised nearly £1,000 for the charity.

This time around, a group of us lads and lasses are undertaking the run in full uniform and kit, with a couple of us wearing the full public order gear again. Several of the officers running have never even attempted the distance before, let alone with stones of kit and boots weighing them down!

Please dig deep and spare whatever you can to sponsor us and help out this truly wonderful charity.

To make it a little more daunting and hopefully raise some extra £££, I am going to put myself on offer for some extra pain. I will run in public order kit with a round shield regardless, but if we reach or come close to the target £2,000 I will swap it for a long shield. If by some miracle we exceed the £2,500 mark, then I will really let myself in for it and swap the shield out for an enforcer battering ram. I'm sure a few of the others could also be roped into this!!

No pain no gain eh? :)
