Story

I'm an Australian occupational therapist working in the north of Glasgow with children who have complex disabilities (how an Australian came to be in Scotland is a whole other story!).

Every day I come across children with disabilities who need things that I can't supply through the NHS. For example a car seat for a 5 year old with severe cerebral palsy costs up to £1400 and yet this essential item will not be funded by local Health or Social Care bodies.

This is where Newlife comes in, they support disabled children and their families by providing equipment that is often essential and always makes day to day life that bit easier.

So when I decided to challenge myself with a half marathon I knew it was Newlife I wanted to support.

(And I've just helped five families apply for car seats, for a total of more than £5000 so dig deep please!).
