I finished the British 10K yesterday (12 July), staggering over the finish line after a hot and bothered 50 minutes!

I once again ran in aid of St Giles Trust, the charity I work for.  Their inspiring work helps ex-offenders and disadvantaged people rebuild their lives and break free of the vicious cycle of crime, social exclusion and custody.  Crime is something that affects all of us and St Giles reaches thousands of people each year, giving people the chance to change.  The impact of our work is very human but the following quote from a 40 year old man we helped who had been in and out of prison most of his adult life illuminates it very well: "My girlfriend's stood by me for 20 years. There's alot I owe her. I've been getting great pleasure just watching the smile on her face 'cause I can walk out the front door now not thinking, "She'll hear a siren and say, "Is that you?" ".  She trusts me 100 percent now."

In these difficult economic times demand for our services is growing yet competition for funds is fiercer than ever before. Every penny you give will help directly help our clients address the problems they face and make a positive contribution to society.  We have recently received support from high profile people such as Prince William, Theo Paphitis and Jenny Agutter.  Further details can be found at www.stgilestrust.org.uk
