Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Moral of the story- I am donating my hair to the Little Princess Trust (who provide real hair wigs) and raising money for Cancer Research UK
My name is Tanisha and the one thing people recognise me by is my hair. It's long. And by long I mean it hits the backs of my knees. I've always had long hair (I wanted to be a princess growing up). And now it's time to cut it. Graduation is around the corner and I want to do something good. Donating my hair was always something that I said I would do. People have joked that I should sell my hair (and I have had a few offers) but I know my hair will be put to good use by being made into wigs.
I have always taken my hair for granted. It's just there on my head. But there are people out there who have lost their hair because of cancer treatments. They don't get to experience the good hair days let alone the bad. My hair can do good. My hair can give someone the chance to experiment new hair styles, to braid and color and to just be creative. To be more than their cancer.
So. Help my hair do some good and make someone's day that bit less sucky. Because let's be honest, cancer sucks. But people deserve to look in the mirror and love themselves. Donating hair won't dramatically save someone's life, it won't cure their disease. But it might just make someone smile. Help me to raise money, so that cancer is a thing of the past. As a medical geneticist, I know how important research into understanding and fighting cancer is. And I also know that there is a lot of work to do. We need people like YOU to help fight cancer.
