All you lovely people! Before the question comes up if you need to bring anything for the 1st - here the answer: NO! There will be enough bubbly & nibbles for everyone. BUT I have a much better idea: donate a little bit instead!

You were all awesome and helped me raise over GBP5,000 for the Terrence Higgins Trust when I ran the London marathon in 2017. So let's be awesome again!

This time I've decided to support the St Nicolas Nairobi Fund, and offer one of their brightest kids, 6-year old Ann Mumbi Kimani, the chance to study in a great school where her potential can really shine. 

Ann joined the Baobab School in 2016. Ann's parents don’t have permanent jobs but the mum tries to make a living through selling old bags by the road side and does laundry for other people, while the dad sometimes gets a job as driver with the public transportation. Their family of five live in a two room house. She is exceptionally talented and works very hard, she is determined, dedicated and has lots of potential. She deserves to have a chance!

Also a friend of mine who lives in Kenya, sponsors one of the other kids in the school and has promised to keep an eye on Ann, so she'll be in good hands! The money will go directly into her education without any cuts.

So what do we need? Ann will spend eight years at St Philipps and the cost per year is approximately 46,000 Kenyan Shillings (~GBP350). So all in all GBP2,800.
Hence donate generously - and luckily I do a Christmas and a Birthday party once a year so we can keep drinking and celebrating to raise Ann's annual school fee. And in case we ever run short - rest assured - I'll make sure she can keep studying.
