Story
Hi friend!!
I am running the Royal Parks half marathon in October and want to support the Royal Parks charity.
The Royal Parks charity manages and conserves London’s eight beautiful Royal Parks for visitors, tourists & future generations for free. The 5,000+ acres of parks spaces are to enjoy for leisure, sport, entertainment, education, history and culture.
It's so easy - and I myself am culprit of this - to overlook this charity as doesn't necessarily seem as meaningful as raising money for other causes e.g. mental health, cancer etc. and take for granted the amazing, beautiful open green spaces we have in London.
I am personally incredibly lucky to have Regent's Park and Primrose Hill at my doorstep and to be able to call them my second home (literally). Those of you who know me well know that they were the #1 source of my mental and physical sanity during the pandemic and I can safely say others felt the same about the park(s) near them. They to date remain safe havens and have witnessed so much of my laughter and so many of my tears.
Having started writing, I didn't realise just how strongly I feel about the parks and now could go on for another several paragraphs but will save you the time.
£1 or £100 - anything helps so thank you so much!!
