Hospice Of St Francis - Go Ape! for the Hospice 2009 · 18 October 2009 ·
It is just over a year since my wonderful Darling Allan, soul-mate and partner-in-all-things, left us, with Mark, Samantha and I by his side. He fought and faced the cruel disease of prostate cancer gallantly and selflessly. The last few months and days of his life were made a great deal more bearable by the incredible professional, practical and emotional support given by the amazing Dr. Ros Taylor and her fabulous team at the residential Hospice of St. Francis. This hospice is an inspiration in their chosen field in terms of facility, professional care, warmth and positive atmosphere. It takes £6,000 a day to provide the residential and outpatient care and only 19% is covered by the Government.
Through the generous donations of family, friends and colleagues £3,000 was raised at Allan’s Memorial Service in 2008; £1,000 was given to the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and £2,000 to the Hospice of St. Francis. With your help I would like to raise £2,000 or more this year in Allan’s memory and to hopefully inspire you to support this extremely worthwhile charitable institution, which helps people to end their days with dignity, tremendous nursing care and as pain-free as possible, also giving support to their loved ones, I am taking on this daunting challenge. Do please act now in showing your support. Thank you so much for taking time to read this in your busy schedule. Your donation, in Allan’s memory, will be very gratefully received by the Hospice of St. Francis and me and my family. Warmest wishes. x (scroll down... just a little more to follow!) P.S. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer.
