Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 1st September 2011 I will embark on a 10 day trek to the famous ‘Lost city of the Incas’, Machu Picchu, in aid of the Meningitis Trust. It is situated on a mountain ridge 2430 metres above sea level in Peru, 80km northwest of Cusco, where my trek will begin. Machu Picchu is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whilst it has also recently been voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
For this once in a lifetime challenge, I aim to raise £2750 for the Meningitis Trust, who this year are celebrating their 25th anniversary. Any sponsorship would be much appreciated, every little helps!
The Vision of the Meningitis Trust is simple - for everyone affected by meningitis to have access to support for life and for awareness levels of the disease to be such that lives are saved. Their Mission:
•Provide lifelong access to our support services for everyone affected by meningitis for as long as they need it – enabling them to rebuild their lives.
•Raise awareness of the threat of meningitis, its symptoms and its consequences with health professionals and the general public – prompt action can save a life or reduce the likelihood of after-effects.
•Empower other people and organisations by working together - improving aftercare for people affected by meningitis in the UK and beyond.
•Continue to be the leading authority on the after-effects and aftercare of meningitis - fighting for those who need support for life

I will be truly grateful for any support that you can give to help me help this worthy cause.
Thank you,
