Children of Ukrainian Heroes in Tarasivka

Tarasivka is a piece of Ukraine in the heart of England. The site is a former military camp located in Weston-on-Trent which was acquired by the Ukrainian Youth Association in 1964 ( cym.org/uk/ ) For half a century Tarasivka has hosted Ukrainian cultural and sporting events, as well as annual Summer Camps for 4-17 years old children. These Camps are unique: they combine the immense fun of living in tents with a variety of recreational and sporting activities as well as the all important education element which adds to their patriotic upbringing. For decades children of the Diaspora have learnt about Ukrainian culture, history, contemporary political and social issues in Ukraine by coming to these camps. Huge number of friends-for-life have been made in these camps and many families are now counting their fourth generation of campers. This year CYM will run its 50th Camp in Tarasivka with the motto for this year Camp "My people are, my people will always be!" ("Narod mij je, narod mij zavzhdy bude!") which was chosen for its relevance to the current situation in Ukraine. In line with the spirit of CYM we are very keen to bring to this year's Camp a group of children whose parent lost his/her life in the current struggle for an independent Ukraine. These will be children of the Heavenly Hundred and of heroes killed in action during the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Eastern Ukraine. These children have never been to the UK and they are very interested in getting to know more about life in Europe. After all, the European future of Ukraine is the cause their parents gave their lives for! We are fundraising so that we will be able to cover their visa and Camp fees, plus pay for their travel. Our aim is to raise £10,000 that will enable us to bring a group of 12-14 youngsters, however if we manage to exceed this amount Tarasivka will be happy to welcome more Heroes Children! Please, help us to realize this Dream Trip for the children who so deserve it! 

Діти Героїв в Тарасівці.

Тарасівка -- це шматочок України в самому серці Англії. Колишнія військова база, що знаходиться коло Уестон-он-Трент, була куплена Спілкою Української Молоді ( cym.org/uk/ ) в 1964 році. З тих пір, вже понад пів сторіччя, в Тарасівці проходять фестивалі української культури, спортивні змагання, літні Табори для дітей і юнацтва від чотирьох до сімнадцяти років. Ці Табори -- унікальне явище, вони поєднують в собі захоплюючі пригоди: життя в наметі, заняття спортом, подорожі, з дуже важливим елементом -- патріотичним вихованням. Десятиліттями діти Діаспори навчалися в Тарасівці україським пісням, танцям, вивчали на "гутірках" історію України, дізнавалися про сучасні політичні і соціальні колізії. Незліченна кількість дітей знайшла в Тарасівці друзів на все життя, є багато сімей, що відправляють в Тарасівку вже четверте покоління "таборян"! Цього літа в Тарасівці пройде ювілейний 50-й табір, гаслом якого обрано дуже актуальні сьогодні слова геніального Василя Симоненка: "Народ мій є! Народ мій завжди буде!". Відповідно до духу і засад СУМу, ми прагнемо запросити до участі в Таборі групу дітей з України, чиї батько або матір віддали своє життя в боротьбі за незалежну Україну. Ми хочемо запросити дітей Героїв Небесної Сотні і Героїв, що загинули в АТО. Це будуть діти, що ще ніколи на були в Британії і дуже хочуть дізнатися більше про життя в Європі. Вони повинні побувати тут, адже саме за європейське майбутнє України віддали своє життя найрідніші їм люди! Ми збираємо гроші на цей проект, щоб мати можливість оплатити їм візу, таборовий внесок і переліт. Наша мета зібрати £10 000, що дозволить нам привезти в Тарасівку 12-14 дітей, але, якщо нам вдасться зібрати більше, Табір радо прийме більшу групу Дітей Героїв.
