3 Peak Challenge · 8 June 2013

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Emma Crump was born in July 2010 with a congenital heart defect.  She has been in and out of hospital from birth and in 2012 spent several weeks at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in intensive care where they saved her life.  We are raIsing money to support the amazing work that GOSH do, not just for Emma, but for all the children in their care.

The National Three Peaks Challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. Walkers climb each peak in turn, and are driven from the foot of one mountain to the next. The total distance walked is estimated at 44 km (27 mi), with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 m).  The three peaks are:

-Ben Nevis (1,344 m or 4,409 ft), the highest mountain in Scotland
-Scafell Pike (978 m or 3,209 ft), the highest mountain in England
-Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m or 3,560 ft), the highest mountain in Wales.
