Story
Check Point have decided to take on yet another charity challenge this year for a wonderful cause, and with me being the newest member of the team, what a way to be initiated than being thrown out of a plane at 15,000ft !! :)
The Charity Check Point have chosen is Saint Francis Hospice, All the important stuff below! They are a wonderful cause, solely based upon donations to keep running.
Saint Francis Hospice is an independent charity and one of the largest adult hospices in the UK. They serve the population of Brentwood, Havering, Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge – around one million people.
The hospice isn't aimed at just cancer patients - they also provide care to people with other life limiting illnesses, i.e. Motor Neurone Disease, heart disease and respiratory illness.
The hospice provides care in the home, inpatient care at the hospice plus a day care centre in the hospice with a full range of therapies and treatments. The team consists of specialists consultants, doctors, nurses, health care assistants and volunteers. They provide practical and emotional support to both the patient and their families.
It costs around £6.5million per year in order for them to provide their wonderful service, over two thirds of which is gained through charitable donations.
I will also make sure I collect the footage at the end of the day, So you can all laugh at the faces we make on our pursuit to the ground.
Thank you so much for any sponsors made!
