Serial killers seem to be distance, like a story from a book or a tv programme. Surprisingly we all know and we have all suffered a loss due to the biggest killer in NI – Heart Disease. This year the disease took another precious life of a person very dear to our Team – Liam Quinn. The man with a big dream, the man who brought us all together and who formed Team Air Power! The man who didn't run away from challenges. He run over them!

Losing Liam in the prime of his life plunged us into deep sadness. But No 1 killer in the UK remains ruthless, taking 160 000 life’s every year. We feel like enough is enough (read ‘challenge accepted’). We have teamed up with Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke to help others reduce the risk of heart diseases and enjoy their lives longer.

And here we are, training for a 2018 Belfast Marathon, to raise the money for amazing NICHS team, which is helping nearly 9000 people every year. Our goal is to support at least one survivor for a year, by raising £658.80, enabling to attend its local scheme for an entire year.

We all want NICHS to be there for us or our loved ones, so remember every penny makes a difference! See how your money is going to support the matter:

£16.47 covers the costs of one Stroke Scheme visit for a local person.

£122.80 covers NICHS staff costs for one scheme for a week.

£341.22 funds a whole Stroke Scheme near you for one week.

£658.80 pays for one stroke survivor to attend their local scheme for an entire year.

Now a little bit more about teams.

We are by no means athletes (more like couch potatoes), but we are determined to honour the memory of Team Air Power’s founder. We have formed 2 teams (or even 3): Fast and Furious will take a part in Team Relay, while the rest of the Team Air Power will be there to cheer us on (or #BeInTheBar).
