Three Peaks Challenge · 8 July 2007

Unique is an open, supportive community for people who are looking to learn, share lived experiences and connect with others whose life has been touched by rare chromosome or gene disorders. We are here to support and celebrate people living truly unique lives. We are Unique… and so are you.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page, set up especially to raise awareness and much needed support for our chosen charity, Unique.

Everyday 10 babies are born in the Uk alone with a rare chromosome disorder; this means that at least 1 in every 200 babies carries either a balanced or unbalanced rare chromosome disorder.

1 in every 1,000 live births has a rare chromosome disorder resulting in disability or ill health.

Some chromosome disorders are so rare that they are truly unique, but although individually rare, such rare chromosome disorders are collectively numerous.

Unique helps by supporting affected families whilst they try to come to terms with the fact that it might be impossible for them to be given a definite prognosis for their affected children.

Sue, one of the team at Branston was given support by Unique following the birth of her son Ricky, and is now on a mission with the rest of our charity challenge team to give a bit back.

Our team consists of several colleagues from the B&Q Home Delivery Network and our aim is to complete the three peaks challenge within a 24hr period.
