Some of the key benefits of a drunken night out lie in the stories one has to tell the next morning. I believe the majority of our team woke up after a TEQUILA fuelled night out thinking 🤔 did I just say I would do a 10 mile 25 obstacle tough mudder ........ Oh NOOOOO we did as the WhatsApp messages started appearing very soon we realised we were 10 and after another outrageous night out we had recruited a few more into the fold and that is how we became the 'TEQUILA SHOTS'.
So with 13 recruited 11 Mums and 2 Dads we started our training. For many of us the thought of running 500m let alone 10miles was slightly daunting so we eased ourselves in by using the BBC couch to 5k app which we would highly recommend, 👍 by February half term we had achieved our first goal. Here on after things got slightly harder, training runs were mapped out and PT sessions booked for the few that were able. With the majority of the team trying to juggle full time jobs, family life and fit in their training it has been challenge enough.
So on the 27th July at Broughton Hall park in Skipton it will be our first time in 7 months that we have been able to all come together as a team 😳. A few pounds or even a few stone lighter, body fat reduced and many many goals achieved along the way, including several members of the team completing the very first ilkley half marathon last weekend which was incredible well done Mark, Karen and Lucie.
Every year our kids in their final year get to choose a charitable organisation which they would like the school to support this year the children of form four chose Barnardo's along side this we are wishing to help raise money for the Westville house playground refurbishment project.
We are still felling sick about the challenge in front of us. But here goes we will give it our best shot.
This fundraising page has been created to raise funds jointly between Barnardo’s and Westville House School. All donations will be divided 50/50 between the two causes.
