Christmas Hamper Appeal · 13 November 2019

Gateshead Foodbank is a local charity set up to offer emergency food for Gateshead people in crisis. We are part of the Trussel Trust’s network of foodbanks. We work together with frontline Care Professionals to distribute food via a specialist distribution centre in central Gateshead.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Every year, Transmit organises a donation to Gateshead Foodbank to help put together their Christmas Hampers, and make a real difference to someone's Christmas. We have distributed donation boxes across the business centres in Gateshead Baltic Quarter and asked residents to donate a few items requested by the foodbanks. We understand not everyone can get to the business centres, but would still like to donate.

Between 1 April 2018 and 31 March 2019, the Trussell Trust’s food bank network distributed 1,600,000 three-day emergency food supplies to those in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children.
88,708 of these emergency food parcels were supplied in the North East of England.

As Christmas draws close, it is important we help those who need it and spread a little joy. All donations are really appreciated and gratefully received.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
