Hi Everyone - Team 5 Star ( Gavin, Kelly, Erin, Karen & Duncan) will be taking part in the London Shine Walk this year, in memory of some very important people in our lives who have been taken by Cancer. We all have or will be touched by Cancer sometime in over lives. The fight must go on to beat this awful disease once and for all. By doing this night time walk across the capital we wanted to play our small part in helping to achieve the goal of Cancer Research UK. How ever small or big every penny counts to going to work at this goal, we would be honoured if you could help me achieve my small target in any way you can.

Kelly's Story

I will be taking part in this years Shine Night Walk across London as part of Team 5 Star in memory of my beautiful Mum Irene who we lost to this to cancer a few years ago as well as my Aunt Lil who I know will both be shining down on me through the night . I miss them everyday and wanted to do something to make them proud and continue to fight towards finding a cure. So many of us will have sadly been effected by this dreadful disease we need to find a cure and fast

If you could all spare just a few pounds it could make a huge difference! Love Kelly

Gavin's Story

This horrible disease has taken and effected some very special people in my life, I will be taking part in memory of my amazing Grandad Henry Jones who battled for a long time with Prostrate Cancer, my Amazing Mother-in-law Pamela Smith who never lost her smile, sense of humour and faith and my wonderful Auntie Shirley Sharp who lived each day to the full, and for the millions of others who are effected by Cancer. I hope to raise money for Cancer Research UK and to help towards the fight to hopefully beat Cancer once and for all one day. This is my first Shine Night Walk and I am taking part in memory of two special people who I lost 9 years ago. My friend Wendy and my Uncle John. They were both inspirational in the way they dealt with this disease.  I am also walking for the many survivors of cancer including my wonderful Dad.  Any donation would be gratefully accepted thank you.

Duncan's Story

I am participating in my first Shine Walk. Team 5Star would like to make a difference in our own small way to eradicating this awful disease. On a personal level I am walking for my Uncle Colin, who passed away 8 years ago due to Lung Cancer. The phrase 'Favourite Uncle' will never be used in a more truthful way. He always made me feel that he believed  in what I did, had a great sense of humour and looked after me at a difficult time in my life. He also persuaded me to support Manchester United!. I miss him every day.

I will be spured on to complete the walk, as my wife is in the team and I can't bear the consequences if I don't finish (but I will)
