Dover 2 Dunkirk Cycle · 19 October 2019

We refurbish second-hand bikes and donate them to refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK. With some refugees surviving on as little as £8.86 per week, a bike serves as a vital tool to access essentials like food, healthcare and legal advice, build confidence and form part of a community.

Story

Team Cycle4IBD are on the road again but this time we are doing something a bit different. The team are raising money to help a fantastic charity called the Bike Project. Naturally, with being cycling enthusiasts, we openly support any charity that uses cycling to help people improve their quality of life. The Bike Project are a very unique charity and we would like to help.

The team are embarking on a fundraiser cycle from Dover to Dunkirk and back again to raise all important funds and awareness for this great charity. Please help us to help them and make a donation, however big or small it will be greatly appreciated.

The Bike Project

Imagine living on £36 a week. It's enough for food, perhaps, but what about travel? If you need a new pair of shoes, what sacrifices will you have to make? These hard choices are the daily reality of a refugee in London.Bikes to the Rescue! We take second-hand bikes, fix them up and donate them to refugees and asylum-seekers. Why? One of our bikes can save a refugee £21 a week in bus fares. Having fled persecution and atrocity in their homeland, a bike helps them access food banks, legal advice, healthcare, education and more.
