Newcastle and Gateshead hosted the Great Exhibition of the North this summer.  Supported by over £6m of Government funding, the event was the largest of its kind in 2018, celebrating the great art, culture and innovation of the North.  To mark the occasion, a team of 14 DCMS employees undertook the Great North Run for charity, with proceeds going to MediCinema, which is our Department's chosen charity this year.  We are mostly non-athletes for whom a half-marathon was massively challenging and possibly traumatic, so thank you for giving us the encouragement we desperately needed by sponsoring our run and helping our fantastic charity!
