Hello,

We have entered the RedR Disaster Relief Challenge on the 22nd May 2010 and we have commited ourselves to raise £2000 for the fine RedR Cause.  RedR is an international charity which helps to relieve the suffering caused by disasters by selecting, training and providing competent and committed personnel to humanitarian programs worldwide.

This year has seen several significant natural disasters in Haiti and Chile which have been covered at length in the international media. There are still RedR engineers on the ground in both countries; they are working with locals and other NGOs to ensure infrastructure, water supply, sanitation and hygiene are restored.

Donating to RedR is essential to meet the needs of not only these two disasters but also to ensure engineering expertise can be sent to future natural disasters around the world.  A donation to RedR is a sustainable way of ensuring effective future disaster response.

When we were asked to join the RedR Disaster Relief Challenge, we thought it was a great opportunity for us not only to support RedR in the best possible way (fund raising!) but also to learn a bit about how difficult and challenging an 'emergency' situation can be.

So,

Whenever there is a disaster, there is always some brave people to go deep in the thick of it and help the ones who need it. They don't know them, they just do it because they feel it is right.

If you think it is right to help such brave people, you don't know them, but you can dig deep in your pocket and give away a few euros/pounds/dollars. We'll be proud to bring them, on your behalf, to the RedR charity.
