Story
After a recent scare I was one of the fortunate women that was able to walk away with the all clear recently. And I’m lucky to say this isn’t the first scare I have had, but after becoming a mother to two beautiful boys, this time the whole experience was different.... I was scared. I could have been that woman looking at her husband and sons and wondering if we would still be together to see the new year.
Despite my all clear outcome I simply cannot forget the look of anguish on the faces of those brave women who didn’t receive the news they had hoped for. This experience changed me, I see that tomorrow isn’t promised, cancer doesn’t discriminate, it affects people of all ages, sexes, sizes and colours.
My sisters will be joining me on this 10k journey, we lost our grandmother to this disease so it’s a cause close to our hearts. This run is a high five from us girls to the warrior men and women who are fighting this awful disease.
So please.... dig deep and together we can contribute to a cause which is making a difference to thousands of lives.
Much Love Surnita, Sharon & Karen xxx
