Story

Team Paddison was established by Andrew Paddison who is a handcyclist and attempts these endurance challenges to see how far he can push his unique body

Andrew is a Thalidomider. He has no right leg and 2 short arms and has adapted his handbike to assist him with these endurance challenges.

For Andrew to tackle any handcycling route he needs assistance, hence the Team. The team are composed of 3 other cyclists and a support crew.

This year, the aim is to become the FIRST handcyclist to cover the route known as Race Around Ireland, which is becoming the one of the world’s toughest endurance races. Andrew’s aim is to take 13 days and follow the actual route and navigating anti clockwise as per the race.

The Team will set of on Sunday 29th May 2022 from Trim and return to Trim hopefully on Saturday 11th June 2022.

The Team will include AlunRoberts, who has taken part in the last 2 challenges, Steve Evans who also has been involved in the last 2. Steve Coldicott who is a newbie to the Team. Nicola Graham is our dynamic / versatile new Team member and finally the support van driver Colin Edwards.

This year the cause is WomensAid and is extremely close to Andrew’s heart, domestic violence /abuse of any sort must cease. Andrew and the Team believes everything must be done to support women, men and children affected by such violence.

Please follow the Team on all social media platforms, under TeamPaddison  and recommend to your friends

The Team thanks everyone for all the support
