Maggie's Centres - Maggie's London Night Hike 20 mile · 16 September 2011 ·
Hello, and thank you so much for visiting our Team Piia Just Giving page.
Minna, Suzie, Ali, Emma, Anna, Nuala and Steph will be taking part in the Maggie’s London Night Hike on Friday 16 September: a 20 mile hike through the London night to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Caring centres across the country.
As you may already know, we lost our dear friend Piia Anteroinen in April this year, after a brave 2 years battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Maggie’s London was a huge support to Piia during this time and she was a very active supporter and fundraiser for them. You can read about some of the work Maggie's do, and about Piia's experience, in her blog: http://www.piiapauliina.com/.
In 2009, Piia and team did the 20 mile night hike and we managed to raise over £3000 for Maggie’s. A link to see the 2009 hike video is to the left.
This year, in her honour, and to say thank you to Maggie’s for all the crucial help, advice and support they gave to Piia, and to so many others, we are reprising our team to do the Night Hike once again. The funds raised will go to the existing Maggie’s centres, and towards building new ones around the UK. These centres are a huge support to anyone living with cancer. You can read more about them here: http://www.maggiescentres.org/
Anything you can afford to donate is fantastic, and is going towards a very worthy cause.
Thank you,
Team Piia
