#TeamRun4Ronnie are back with a vengeance and a new challenge!

After a year beset by injuries, on November 9th 2019 Neil, Simon and Scott will take on their first ever 13.1 Mile run as a team, and they are doing it in the city of Philadelphia , USA! at The Rocky Run!

Through the years we have all been fans of the Rocky movies and we wanted to do something a little different that gave us a huge amount of motivation, what better than this! The event we will be taking part in, is the Italian Stallion Challenge which is a combination of two races one 5k(3.1miles) and a 10 mile race along Martin Luther King Jr Drive which runs alongside the Schuylkill River to create a single distance challenge of 13.1 miles.

Who better to raise money for, than a fantastic charity that does amazing work in our very own home town of Liverpool.

Zoë's Place provide respite for families who have a child aged between 0-5 years, who have a life limiting or life threatening condition. Caring for a child with complex needs can be difficult, time consuming and tiring and so they are there to give that extra bit of support to the families, to make sure they get the breaks they may need to catch up on other things or even just to get some time to refresh themselves.

Zoë’s Place currently care for around 50 families and are a 6-bed hospice, meaning that they can care for up to 6 babies at any one time. Families receive respite care on average for 2 nights per month, but they can also cater for special occasions and emergency respite. All of Zoë’s Place Nurses and Senior Care Assistants are specially trained to care for babies with complex needs and there is always a dedicated member of staff caring for each child during their stay. This staff member will work with the families to devise a tailored care plan for each baby to ensure that they are fully meeting their needs. This can range from working around medication needs, to organising therapies, to helping create play activities and making memories. Our hospice is 24 hours, and so their staff are also assigned to provide this same care throughout the night.
