Connect is a national charity for people living with aphasia (communication disability) which is often caused by stroke. Aphasia can strike anyone at any age and at any time. 1 in every 200 people in the UK lives with aphasia and each person experiences it differently. Some people cannot speak at all, some people have just a few words. It affects reading, writing and numbers. Aphasia can lead to lack of confidence, depression, social exclusion – and people can lose their connection with the world. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our vision is a simple one, we want a world where people with aphasia can re-connect with life again. Find out more about how we do that at www.ukconnect.org

Story

Hi there, we are raising money for a really worthy cause - Connect - a charity for people living with aphasia, a communication disability, which is often as a result of a stroke. Connect is the charity our employer VMA Group has chosen to support this year and one that neither Paul or I knew much about before - but it does some really impressive work.
