Story
This September I and around 70 others will be travelling to Nicaragua for 3 months to volunteer with Raleigh International on a development programme. This is part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which gives young people the opportunity to work together and make a difference where it is needed most. Whilst out there we will also be joined by volunteers from Nicaragua, creating a great diverse team who all have the same goal of making improvements which are not short-lived, but that are the foundations for a better future. Our project is community based and focuses on water sanitation and natural resource management. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are also passionate about long term community development.
In order for me to be able to volunteer in Nicaragua I need for raise £800 for Raleigh who are one of the respected development charities that deliver ICS. All the money raised goes to the charity to allow them to continue to bring about positive change within the communities where they work. None of the money raised pays for my flights, accommodation, vaccines etc this is all funded by the government through ICS. So any money you donate will go towards making a positive difference and will be truly appreciated. To find out more about Raleigh and the amazing work they do, you can find their website here: https://raleighinternational.org/
To fundraise I am planning on doing all different types of events and jobs such as cake sales, car boot sales, babysitting etc. therefore if you’re reading this and have any odd jobs or babysitting or any spaces/events where I can sell stuff or just raise awareness about the cause please get in contact with me (teganlpritchard@gmail.com) and I’ll be willing to get involved and help out J
Any contributions from you will make a real difference to
the lives of the people in the communities we work in, even something as little
as £1!
Thanks for your support, I appreciate every bit of it!
