London to Brighton Trek · 22 June 2013 to 23 June 2013 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

The challenge is to trek non stop from London to Brighton, that's 100kms (62 miles) through the day and night in less than 30 hours. I have decided to walk this in memory of my Dad, John who died from heart disease aged just 54. He seemed so healthy as he didn't drink or smoke, wasn't overweight and cycled everywhere. However, heart disease can be a silent killer. Recently another family member and a dear friend have had heart scares, so I hope by raising money for the British Heart Foundation, further research can be done to prevent others from losing their loved ones.

I've decided to do the walk with my sister Wendy and we have been training hard, but the last time we did a trek together was in Peru, way back in 1996!

So check out my photos of my dear Dad and family (I'm the blond kid!) and me and my sister in Peru (what was I wearing?!)
