Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year my daughter Sophie has her 5th birthday. It hardly seems 5 years since my wife's pregnancy with our third child. It was made even more special by her sister being pregnant with her second at the same time.

Both pregnancies went well and everyone was excited about the forthcoming additions to the family.

Sophie arrived in July and to our relief, both my wife and new daughter were well.

Then the attention turned to my sister in law. The baby was due in January and all the usual checks and scans showed everything was ok.

Lily arrived in December but to everyone's shock she was born with complications. The whole family was devastated.

Lily only lived for a few hours before she died.

We will never forget the pain and suffering that my sister in law and husband went through. This is something that they and their family will have to live with throughout their whole lives and it's all the more poignant every year as we celebrate another birthday for Sophie.

So to commemorate Lily and say thank you to the charity that helps families through these terrible times, I will be running the Great North Run this year to support Sands.

We appreciate any support you can give to make a difference to those parents going through this heart breaking time.

Thanks, Terry
