Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It's always difficult to know which charity to raise money for.  Recently I sadly saw a photo of some mistreated kittens that were found near Bristol and it broke my heart. People can be so cruel to animals and fortunately charities like Bristol Animal Rescue Centre are there to help animals who are unable to help themselves. Now more than ever they need kind donations.

I thought about how to fundraise for them Covid19 safe-wise, and whilst running a marathon or not drinking alcohol for a month sounds easy (HAHA) the hardest thing I could think of doing was watching two films I have AVOIDED because the thought of watching them fills me with dread. This is mostly of course because I am not a fan of musicals, and mostly I'm just terrified of Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth singing.  Some of my lovely friends have been desperate for me to watch these two films as they think it would be hilarious forcing me to. The idea does sound desperately awful but a friend suggested doing it for charity, and I thought why not! So, on the day after the last day of term (21st July 2020) I will sit down with a giant pot of coffee and watch both Mamma Mia and Mamma Mia 2 along with a tweetalong.  Who knows, by the end I could be singing along and get my Wednesday Adams smile on. Watch this space for my scathing (or not?) Letterboxd reviews afterwards.

I appreciate some will read this and think, HOW IS THIS A CHALLENGE?!

I would be grateful for any support you could give me in my quest for donations. However, I do appreciate times are hard so if you can't donate please don't feel bad.  Just your support in getting through both films will be more than enough.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for your support!
