Story

It's That Time Again for our Annual Pilgrimage (Well apart from 2020 anyway) to Millport, Isle of  Cumbrae (Year 18)

As some of you will know our daughter Alex was born with a heart defect which was corrected at 6 months with a 7.5 hour operation, she has done superbly not requiring any further heart surgery till the age of 13 when she was fitted with a replacement heart valve. Alex recovered from her surgery quickly due to her true grit and determination (i.e. her stubborn streak!) Unfortunately this surgery was not quite as successful as we had hoped due to the complication of calcification and narrowing of the artery. because of this Alex had to have further surgery in March 2018 at The Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow, where she was fitted with another heart valve. Alex has recovered well and is now finishing college where she has been studying childcare with her sister Kerri.

The Scottish Association for Children with Heart Disorders have been there through it all offering support, friendship and supplying much needed medical equipment to The Royal Hospital for Sick Children (who are also Awesome by the way!)

I hope you can spare a little something to help support this really great charity. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated

On the 4th of June 2022, The Delpippo's as a Family are cycling about 11 miles around the Isle of Cumbrae off the coast at Largs in aid of the Scottish Association for Children with Heart Disorders, a charity very close to our hearts (pardon the pun!) We have completed this now almost every year for the last 18 years and always have a great day out. Meeting up with other heart families, a lot of familiar faces and always some new ones too, a bit of exercise in to the bargain all in order to raise money to help a charity that have helped us a lot over the years.
