The Icescreamers

They’re off on an epic journey to Venice in a banger ice cream van.  The Icescreamers on the Venice leg of Motoscape 2014 international banger rally to raise money for two west of Scotland charities – Yorkhill Hospital and Beatson Cancer Charity.

Eight countries in five days.  Will they make it? 

The Icescreamers is the brainchild of five maverick entrepreneurs: cake guru Bulb (aka Martin Lightbody), PR guru The Babbler (Cameron Grant), internationally renowned photographer Pishy (Chris Lishman), veteran accountant Ginger Fox (George Asher) and Scottish Baker of the Year, The Craw (Crawford Currie).

The 15 year old van had a flat tyre before it left Glasgow today (5 Sept). Not to worry. Our intrepid team are confident it will make its top speed of 10 mph on the Nurburgring motor racing track after stopping off at wine and beer festivals and the Ferrari Factory along the way (Hmmmm).

Our super cool Ice Ice Daddios and Lazy Sundae Drivers will be singing along to their favourite ice cream hits through the UK, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. These Disco Dodgers even have their own mobile DJ and glitterball in the back of the van. Yes, their combined age is eight years old.

Proceeds from selling ice cream (Hmmmm) will go to Beatson  Cancer Charity.
