Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

We have decided as a family to climb Mount Snowdon (Gilbert with some sturdy walking boots, and Reuben on our backs!), to raise money towards developing a cure for Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) , a charity close to our hearts.

Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) is a complex condition that affects the filteration system within the kidneys which if left untreated will lead to Kidney failure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potential complications and varied levels of success. We are so grateful to have found a treatment that Gilbert responds well to and that keeps his NS at bay despite the side effects.

Our hearts go out to the children and their families who suffer this emotional rollercoaster, trying different medications from steroids to blood infusions and many more, whilst having the constant worry that this condition could be triggered again at any time.

Please support us in raising money for our charity NeST who fund Bristol Childrens hosptial in researching this condition to find a cure.
