Story

As storm Eunice hit on Friday 18th February, the sanctuary has taken a bit of a hit.

The animals are ok. Spooked, but ok. Our most pressing issue right now is the damage to some of our buildings. We're sure there'll be more damage noticed in the next couple of days, but right now we have:

  • several roofs damaged - on the pig yard, in the pig field, on Princess's stable, on the horse yard
  • a damaged aviary that was housing our delicate pigeons (most of them were caught and relocated, so we hope that the couple that could fly and haven't been spotted yet have found their way to safety)
  • the broiler chicken garden has a collapsed roof
  • our main chicken area has bent steel fence posts
  • one of our feed sheds has fallen over
  • a hay store shelter is close to collapsing
We know we have got off lightly compared to many, but repairing the damage from Eunice will be a cost that we really don't need.

If you can spare even £1 we would be hugely appreciative as we just want to make sure our residents are safe, warm, and sheltered
