Story

We are two adventure-loving 13 year olds who, inspired by our own family stories, want to raise money to help beat cancer while we set off on a journey to see how far we can sail from the source of the River Thames.

We've got a week, a tent, a boat and a passion for adventures and making a difference.

MATT

In 2008 my mother was diagnosed with breast Cancer when she was only 35 years old, I was only two, and my older brothers were just five and seven. she had chemotherapy and luckily survived cancer.

In 2013 my great uncle 'Derrick' died of pancreatic Cancer, when i was six years old, he was the nicest man, and never stopped smiling.

In 2016 my Grandmother 'Judy' but known to her grandchildren as 'Doodah' was diagnosed with mouth and breast cancer, and unfortunately died later that year.

LEO

My love of woodworking and inspiration to restore a 1968 mirror dinghy came from my grandfather, Hugh. He was a wonderful cardiologist and saved lots of lives and I hope to follow in his footsteps and that we raise enough money to make a difference. He also had a passion for carpentry and sailing which he has passed on to me.  We lost Grandpa to cancer in 2013.
