Story
There are approximately 11,000 people that sleep on London’s streets every year. And 1000’s and 1000’s of hidden homeless who you don’t ever see.
That’s why I am doing the London Walk (oi!). On Saturday 19th March 2022 I, along with hundreds of others, will be marching, strolling and strutting together through the night to raise ever-important funds. After the walk I will also be sleeping rough in a doorway or wherever I can find somewhere safe for the night - to share the plight of the people I’m raising money to help.
All the money I raise will be going to The Sanctuary at The Marylebone Project, where I work, to help fund London’s first women’s drop-in Centre, where the doors never close. We’ve also 112 residents living there who are cared for and supported back into independence.
Please help me to raise as much as I can to help make more services available for these women. It costs £10 to supply a care package to a homeless women visiting our service or £47 per night for a stay in our purpose built accommodation with will support from our care workers.
Thank you for you support. I look forward to sharing pictures with you during the walk and of me sleeping rough in London - something which literally terrifies me.
