I have never had cancer, but I know only too well the devastation it causes the patients and their families. My own family has been cursed with cancer and I have lost both parents, several aunts and uncles and have family members of my generation who have successfully battled it.

Cancer has effected every family in the UK, one in three people will have cancer at some point in their life. Thanks to  the brilliant work done at Cancer Research, it is no longer a death sentence - most cancer patients will beat it. But the war against it is not yet won. Cancer Research UK now believe that all cancers will be curable one day.

This is possible, but it's expensive. I am doing my bit by cycling 130 miles over the weekend of 24-26th June in the Yorkshire Dales. I am organising a cycling day at he school I work in to raise as much as I can for Cancer Research.
