At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can. We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

On December 14th 2007, my little sister Amanda died from bowel cancer. She was only 36.

It was, and still is, very traumatic to have lost my sister. Anyone who has seen someone they love dragged to an early death by cancer will always be scarred by the pain of watching that person suffer.

I believe that MacMillan Nurses play a vital role in helping and caring for cancer patients and their families. Because of the support and care Macmillan gave my sister and our family, I am going to complete a solo bike ride to raise £10,000.

On September 6th I starting riding my bicycle from Lands End to John O'Groats, a 'short' distance of 1000 miles over 10 days. That’s just 100 bottom blistering miles per day, for 10 days!

The pedaling will be a solo effort, but to make sure I don't cheat, my mum & dad will be coming along as my support crew. My little family is doing this in memory of Amanda, and we need your help - all we need from you is sponsorship to raise our target of £10,000.

Please dig deep - or volunteer to ride the bike instead!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
