Erin’s going short! · 9 November 2019

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Erin has had long hair for her whole life. It is lovely and thick and currently very long indeed.

She announced this week that she would like to cut her hair and donate it to The Little Princess Trust. On reading up, I have learned that they rely, not only on donations of hair but also need monetary donations as the wigs are very labour intensive and expensive to make. Ideally, we would like to raise the £550 it takes to make just one wig but would be happy with whatever you can spare.

Here is what The Princess Trust say about what they do:

When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever. Promise. Please visit us at www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out how you can help us give young people back what cancer takes away. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.
