I wanted to write a poem that remembered people I knew who had suffered or who had died from cancer. I decided that the best way to do this was to create a list of different types of cancer so that everyone who had suffered could be in some way remembered. The poem is called "memorial" both in memory of the dead and in the hope that one day the cancers themselves may be less threatening, that is why I decided to set up a donation page to Cancer Research.
