Story
I am participating in a school event to raise money for a charity. I will be sleeping rough on Friday, the 28th of April. This will be in a safe environment, but I will still get an experience of what it is like to be homeless. We will have to find our own bits of cardboard to sleep on. The money I raise goes to a charity called Emmaus. This charity impressed me because it is more than just a shelter for the night – it provides homeless people with a job, giving them a reason to keep living. I have noticed many homeless people around Cambridge and they are often young, able-bodied people, and capable of work. Emmaus is not 100% reliant on donations like other charities, it has a business and employs homeless people for this, but donations can still help it quite a lot.
Please support this charity by funding my sleep-out.
