We’re here for deaf children and everyone who cares about them. We empower families to connect and drive change in their communities, and we campaign to make sure deaf children get the support they need. We lead the way, sharing insight and knowledge in the UK and internationally.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Im going to explain why "The national deaf children's society" is so close to home.

Hello, as some of you may or may not know I have 3 children, Maci-Jai aged 5, Tyreece aged 4 and Saphire aged 10 months (she will turn 1 on 14th March, not long before the event)

All 3 of my children are special in their own little ways but they are all funny, clever, kind and caring.

On 14th of March 2017 my wife, Krystal, gave birth to our youngest little beauty. Saphire was born a week early weighing a whopping 9lb13oz. Everything was great, UNTIL it was time for her testings, she passed all of her newborn tests apart from her hearing tests, we had to go back for several more testings, to which she also failed.

After many tests we were told Saphire had bilateral moderate sensorineural hearing loss. This meant Saphire had to be fitted with hearing aids. She was fitted with her metallic pink tiny little hearing aids at just 12 weeks old. Since then she has been amazing with them, very responsive and they are working so well for her!

Along-side this we had to, as a family, have a genetic hearing test done too, to which we discovered our eldest daughter, Maci-Jai, who was 4 at the time, also had some hearing loss, mild in her left ear and moerate  in her right. Her hearing isn't as bad as Saphire's and she doesn't need to be aided.

Tyreece's hearing, as it stands, is great and there are no signs of hearing loss but since finding out the girls both have hearing loss, "The National deaf children's society" have been amazing with providing information and help when needed.

So I am trying to raise funds to donate to a very good cause that is very close to home!

Please help me in doing so, every penny is so gratefully appreiated.
