Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My sister Nia (‘Tiggy’, as she is more commonly known) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in February. As a fit and healthy 40 year old, the news obviously came as a total shock to her, her wife, son, our family, friends and colleagues.
Nia is regarded by nearly all that know her as selfless, compassionate, driven, supportive, thoughtful and creative. Nothing gives me more pride than to be able say she is my big sister. She has personally touched the hearts of thousands of people through the music school she co-manages and their outreach in the local Norfolk community - her support circle runs deep.
However, there is no doubt she has a long path to recovery ahead of her and she will need every ounce of support available - especially from local support services provided by the Big C Cancer Center.
It has been tough living so far away from Nia and my family, especially since learning of her diagnosis - so this is my little way of trying to help give back and support a local charity and their facilities we already know will be integral in her journey ahead.
Founded in 1980, the Big C funds surgical and diagnostic equipment at Norfolk's hospitals meaning increasing numbers of people can be treated locally and new equipment in hospitals has meant faster or less invasive treatment for a range of cancers.
