Dionissia Georgilakis was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2018, however she was probably suffering from this disease earlier than that. It was difficult and heartbreaking watching how this disease was slowly taking her away to another plane. Dionissia was one of the strongest, most independent women we had ever met, but unfortunately, Alzheimer's tore that away from her, bit by bit. Throughout her disease, she enjoyed singing her favourite Greek island song and praying. Even though she rarely knew who we were during the last 12 months, we knew her and loved having her with us. She will be missed dearly, but we know she will always be with us.
