Story

Nigel's son, James, was serving with the 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh when he was killed in Afghanistan on Sunday 27th September 2009. He joined the Battalion in February 2009 & was on his first tour of duty ... he was just 21.

He had a boundless sense of humour, a real enthusiasm for soldiering & a lust for life.

Taken too soon & in his memory, Nigel & his band of Merry Men, from Rempstone, Ruddington & East Leake, are preparing to take on the National Three Peaks 24 hour Challenge on Thursday 27th May to raise funds for Help for Heroes to provide practical, direct support for our brave & wounded heroes.

The Challenge is to ascend & descend the three highest mountains in Scotland, England & Wales in a 24 hour period - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & finally Snowdon. It is a difficult physical challenge with a total ascent in the day of 10692 ft & a total of 21 miles on foot.

A serious challenge considering the furthest this lot normally walk is downhill to the pub !!

So dig deep & donate now in memory of our Welsh Warrior ... never to be forgotten.

Private James John Prosser   14/04/1988 - 27/09/09   RIP
