Story
As my big 40th is fast approaching I have decided to celebrate being “mature” in style and attempt to climb the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours.
After looking in to a number of local charities, I have selected Pied Piper Appeal as our charity partner.
The funds are going to be raised for St Roses School in Stroud and will be used toward the refurbishment of classrooms in a school that provides education, therapy, day and residential care for children and students aged 2 to 25 with a range of disabilities. Over 50 of the children are taught in rooms without hoists which means that sometimes they are wheeled into the classrooms in their beds and stay in them as it takes so much time to get a child out for the lesson, whereas if they had hoists on tracking around the room it would make a massive difference to the severely disabled children.
Further details can be found at: https://stroses.org.uk/ An amazing school!
My challenge is only possible, due to a small group of crazy people who have decided to join me: Hazel Ingram (my best buddy who is going to keep me updated on my waterproof mascara progress ), Mark Ingram (Hazel’s husband, fantastic sense of humour and determination), Paul Robertson (entertaining factor *100 or even *1000, who promised me plenty of jelly beans on the way), Ionel Iancu (hope he is not going to make us run up there!), Paul Lelliott – our driver (who wants to see us suffer…but the truth is …he wants to have time away from his twins) and Jordan Lamb (the youngest of the group with full of positive energy).
So that’s the team! :-)
If I can please ask you all to get involved, donate and most importantly keep your fingers crossed for this challenging event.
Let’s all make some difference to this fantastic school!
Thank you,
Kami
