Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For the 2nd year running I have put my name down to be a part of this amazing team of cyclists. This team will be cycling over 180 miles up and down hill over a three day stretch. On the final day we will join the families of our fallen officers for a service of rememberance at the Arboretum, Staffordshire.
The Leicestershire chapter is growing in numbers and in doing so, raising more money to support this charity to continue the excellent work that they do in supporting the families of our fallen heroes.
I have been truly honoured and privileged to attend the Nationals Police Bravery awards recently. Where acts of outstanding bravery were recognised, stories that brought tears to eyes. Stories telling how our Officers who have run towards danger when others would run away. Who comment that they would do it again and again without a second thought.
Those nominees started their shifts doing a job they love and live for. Those nominees made it home having risked their lives to save others.
Not all of our heros make it home. And when we lose a hero, COPS is there. To listen, talk and support those loved ones left behind.
It is for this reason that I am taking myself out of my comfort zone once again. Fearing the route. Yes there are hills, lots of them and some make the neck creek looking up from the bottom to find the top... Fearing the pain I'm going to be putting myself through. The body isn't as young as it used to be and cycling really isn't my thing 😳 The knee will be taped, the back will be taped and I will be smothered in deep heat. But I will start and finish Knowing that I will be helping to support a great charity that is there to support the families of our fallen heroes.
