Brighton Marathon 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·

We're the UK’s only youth-focused breast cancer awareness charity, on a mission to get every young person checking their chest. We want all young people to know the signs and see their GP if they notice any changes. We do this because early detection saves lives.

Story

Following the fun of the Royal Parks Half Marathon, myself and Jake have decided to run the Brighton Marathon together in April! Once again we are fundraising for CoppaFeel! - a charity I care so passionately about. CoppaFeel!'s cause is so close to my heart, with breast cancer having taken my incredible auntie Jan in 2009. In death Jan was courageous and inspiring and I want to once again run in her memory, motivated by her strength. My wonderful auntie Dawn also had breast cancer a few years ago and showed bravery beyond words. We support CoppaFeel! to try to ensure that no one has to suffer the pain my auntie Jan did and instead to get people checking their boobs/pecs regularly so breast cancer can be caught early when it is treatable and curable.

We're training hard for this marathon and really hope that we can put in a good time. Your support both for us and CoppaFeel!'s cause would mean so much. We would love to reach our target and to raise lots of money for a charity that has already saved so many lives.

CoppaFeel! are the first UK breast cancer charity to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim to install a new healthy habit that could one day save a life. They are on a mission to stamp out late detection of breast cancer and ensure the nation is checking their boobs regularly. They want to educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, encourage them to get to know what is normal for them and empower young people to have the confidence to see a doctor if they notice anything that isn't right for them.
