Tilney to Tokyo · 1 June 2020

Children's Heart Surgery Fund supports children and adults born with congenital heart defects across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Working alongside the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit at LGI, we are funded by generous donations from the general public and the amazing efforts of our fundraisers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Global Lockdown and Coronavirus have been tough on everyone, especially the UK Charity Sector.

What it has provided us with is the time to reflect upon what is important and one of the Tilney Leeds Team's priorities is to raise money for a local charity, the Children's Heart Surgery Fund (and get fit and have fun at the same time!)

Team GB will not be making the journey to Tokyo this summer so Team Tilney will be stepping up to the challenge in their place.

It is 5,840 miles from Leeds to Tokyo and we plan to cover this distance (virtually) in the 30 days of June.

The miles will be covered by a mixture of 'athletes' who will be leaving the home office to start the virtual journey from Leeds on June 1st 2020 either by walking, running or cycling and arriving in Tokyo on or before June 30th 2020.

At over 170 miles each, this will be a tough challenge for every individual involved and your donation will be greatly appreciated and certainly help to keep us on target throughout June and drive us towards the finish line.

The Childrens Heart Surgery Fund provide life-saving medical equipment for the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, parent accommodation for families and vital ward resources. They also fund staff training, scientific research and new clinical roles to provide care for children and their families affected by serious heart conditions.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
