My father has unfortunately been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It is now having a growing impact upon the family and particularly my mum. It is difficult to see someone close to you who has always been so independent and supportive of me struggling to deal with this illness and forgetting simple things which were so easy to him in the past.

It has no cure at present and is one of the most difficult long term illnesses to deal with and not only affects the sufferer but also those who are close to them and in some ways the carer in a different way suffers as much.

If we can make a small difference towards trying to find a cure for this illness then every little can really help.
